The 7th Oil and Gas Geophysics Academic Annual Conference of the Chinese Geophysical Society was held in Xi’an

The 7th Oil and Gas Geophysics Academic Annual Conference, hosted by the Oil and Gas Geophysics Professional Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society and co-organized by the Changqing Oilfield Branch of petrochina Company Limited, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Chang'an University, China University of Petroleum (East China), and Xi'an Shiyou University, will be held from March 29th to 31st, 2025. It was successfully held at the Qujiang International Conference Center in Xi'an. This conference, themed Sharpening Unconventional Swords, Intelligently Exploring Oil and Gas Reservoirs, attracted over 400 experts and scholars from renowned domestic universities, research institutes and enterprises to jointly discuss the cutting-edge technologies and innovative developments in the field of oil and gas geophysics.

This conference has set up 12 specialized sub-forums. It covers directions such as seismic wave propagation theory and methods, rock physics experiments, theoretical and digital cores, high-precision seismic data acquisition, seismic imaging and full waveform inversion of complex structures, seismic reservoir prediction and oil and gas detection, deep, deep, unconventional, new types and non-seismic oil and gas geophysics, well geophysical technology, and the application of artificial intelligence in the field of oil and gas geophysics. It includes 9 invited keynote speeches, 192 oral presentations and 50 poster presentations, providing a high-level academic exchange platform for experts and scholars.

As one of the organizing units, over 30 teachers and students from Chang 'an University participated in the entire conference organization and academic exchange. Professor Bao Ganzong from the School of Geology and Geophysics attended the second third plenary session of the Oil and Gas Geophysics Professional Committee. Professor Ren Zhiming, Associate Professor Xu Shigang, Associate Professor Liu Zhishui, Associate Professor Wang Fei and Dr. Xu Weiwei respectively served as the hosts of the sub-forum reports. Associate Professor Liu Zhishui, master's students Chen Junjie and Zhang Jiahao gave sub-forum reports. Twelve postgraduate students volunteered for the conference. All the teachers and students attending the conference worked closely together, with a strong sense of responsibility and professional spirit, providing all-round and high-quality service guarantees for the conference, fully demonstrating the rigorous and pragmatic working style and the spirit of dedication of the Changda people.
