Chinese地球物理系始于1953年，现有专任教师35人，双聘院士1人，双聘“万人计划”人才1人，专任教师均具有博士学位，一年以上海外留学经历8人。其中教授8人（博士生导师7人），副教授12人，讲师14人。陕西省教学团队1支、享受国务院特殊津贴专家1人、教育部地球物理学教学指导委员会委员1人、陕西省青年人才托举计划1人、海外人才3人、企业专家兼职教师10人。目前拥有地球物理学、勘查技术与工程等2个本科专业，地球物理学一级学科博士点、地球探测与信息技术二级学科博士点和资源与环境领域的专业学位硕士授权点，建有地球物理学博士后流动站和地质资源与地质工程博士后流动站，建设地球物理学院士工作站1个。
The Department of Geophysics was established in 1953. Currently, we have 35 full-time teachers, including 6 professors, 14 associate professors and 15 lecturers. All the teachers have doctoral degrees, among them 8 have more than one-year oversea education experiences. It encompasses a Province-level Teaching Team in Shaanxi, one professor with award of the State Council Special Allowance for Experts, one professor with membership of the Teaching Instruction Commission for Geophysics under the Ministry of Education of China. One professor was selected as a member of the Young Talent Support Project. Meanwhile, we have one dual employed academician of the Academy of Sciences (CAS), one member of the National Ten Thousand Plan (CAE), three members of the Oversea Talents Program and ten part-time experts from enterprises. We now have two undergraduate disciplines: Geophysics and Exploration Technology & Engineering. It also offers master program in Resource and Environment. Having first -level doctoral (Master) program in Geophysics and second -level doctoral (Master) program in Earth exploration and information technology under the first -level Geological Resources and Geological Engineering , it also owns Post-doctoral stations in Geophysics, Geological Resources and Geological Engineering. An Academician Workstation for Geophysics research is available.
近五年，组织在校学生参加国家级、省级和校级创新创业训练、“互联网+”、培优计划项目近80项；全国“挑战杯”、大学生创新创业竞赛、学科竞赛等奖共63项，国家级奖13项、省级竞赛奖21项。多年来毕业生一次性就业率连年稳定在91%以上。
In the past five years, our students have participated in about 80 programs at national, provincial, and university-level. Training programms include Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training, “Internet +” Training, Training for Excellence. Students have obtained 63 awards in different academic contests, 13 at national-level and 21 at provincial-level. Honors and awards are: “Challenge Cup” Contest , College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions. Over the years, the first-time employment rate of graduates is stable at 91%.
近五年，承担国家自然科学基金、国家科技重大专项、国家重点研发计划等纵向科研课题90余项。先后获国家科技进步二等奖1项，省级教学成果奖1项、省部级科学技术二等奖5项、三等奖12项，出版译著和专著10部，发表论文70余篇，有40余篇被SCI和EI检索收录。与美、英、德、澳、日等近10个国家和地区的著名大学、研究机构开展学术交流与联合培养。承办了“The 6th International Conference on Environmental and Engineering Geophysics（ICEEG）”（2014年）、“International Workshop on Gravity, Electrical & Magnetic Methods and Their Applications(GEM2019)”(2019年)和“第四届“创新杯”全国大学生地球物理知识竞赛”等一系列重大学术会议及全国竞赛，获得了国际勘探地球物理学家学会（SEG）、中国地球物理学会（CGS）以及国际著名高校同行的一致赞誉。
In the past five years, we have undertaken approximately 90 research projects at national-level, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Science and Technology Major Projects, and the National Key Research and Development Program. We have won a second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Awards, one first-level provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, and 5 second-level and 12 third-level provincial Science and Technology Development Awards. Staffs have published & translated 10 monographs and about 70 research papers, among them a half on SCI and EI index. We also established academic exchanges and joint training programs with over 10 well-known oversea universities and research institutions in US, UK, Germany, Australia and Japan. We successfully hosted two international conferences & one contest: “The 6th International Conference on Environmental and Engineering Geophysics (ICEEG2014)” , “International Workshop on Gravity, Electrical & Magnetic Methods and Their Applications (GEM2019)”; the 4th "Innovation Cup" National Geophysical Knowledge Competition for College Students. Outstanding acahievement won important recognition from Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), Chinese Geophysical Society (CGS) and international- renowned universities.
