From May 26 to 28, the 6th National University Logging Skills Competition was held at China Petroleum University (Beijing), with 17 universities, 37 teams and 178
teachers and students from the petroleum, geological, coal and mining industries participating. This contest our school sent a graduate team and an undergraduate team, a total of 8 students to participate, a good result to be obtained with a group first prize
and a group second prize.
The competition is divided into graduate group, petroleum university undergraduate group, non-oil university undergraduate group. The competition includes four stages of knowledge-grabbing, theoretical examination, skill operation and reporting defense, focusing on the theoretical knowledge of the participating teams and individual logging methods, the skill level of interpretation of conventional logging and imaging logging data processing, as well as PPT production report, on-site resilience, and team collaboration level. Finally, after fierce competition, our undergraduate team won the first prize of the group, the graduate team won the second prize of the group, Dr. Wang Fei won the outstanding guidance teacher award, Shi Mengxi students won the best professional knowledge award, the undergraduate team won the best group interpretation report award, the graduate team won the best defense team award.
During the competition, China Petroleum Society also held the first national logging young teachers' teaching basic skills competition (referred to as logging youth education competition). After fierce competition, young teachers Yue Chongwang and Wang Fei from the Geophysics Department of the Geosciences Institute, won the second prize respectively.
The National University Logging Skills Competition is one of the most important geophysical logging competitions in China sponsored by the China Petroleum Institute, which upholds the purpose of promoting learning by competition and teaching by competition, and cultivates students' practical ability and comprehensive quality, so that students can adapt to the needs of enterprises and society.
