The 20th Anniversary International Symposium on Geo-Disaster Reduction, organized by the International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction (ICGdR) and co-organized by Kanazawa University, was held in Kanazawa, Japan, from August 16 to 19, 2022. As the Secretary General of the ICGdR, Professor Tonglu Li, the master of the observation station, held the 2nd Board Representative meeting and introduced new ICGdRmembers.
Nearly 20 teachers and students from the observation station participated in the meeting online, and carried out extensive and impressing exchanges on various aspects of geological disasters. Including disaster mechanism, risk assessment, experimental simulation, calculation and analysis, monitoring and forecasting. On August 18, Professor Tonglu Li gave an invited lecture titled "Geo-Disaster Mitigation with Urban Development in the Northern Chinese Loess Region". Students of our station, including 9 doctors and 2 masters, gave oral presentation sessions, respectively. Each report has a distinct theme and outstanding innovation points, which aroused lively discussions among theparticipants.
